Is this safe? as I have read in Consumer Health Digest, people should avoid using oil to stimulate your colon, I mean the use of mineral oil is banned as it can lead to diarrhea. Maybe because its olive oil maybe its safer

Well, this cannot be accurate information, because dairy is the last thing you should consume when you have bowel issues. If you think you’re in pain from constipation and do what this says, you can get awfully painful gas from the lactose in milk. Too bad. Some of the others sound reasonable – e.g., banana (part of the BRAT diet).

One definitely avoids if allergy to lactose exists. Otherwise, try and take it with buttermilk which aids digestion. A combination with papaya or pineapple is a good option. Or a salad dressing made of extra virgin olive oil and raw apple cider vinegar or lemon juice will help.

I’ve been regularly using olive oil as our essential oil. We also sometimes use ‘rice bran oil for deep or prolonged frying as it can withstand high temperatures without breaking up. For over two decades I suffered from acid reflux and esophagitis during the period when I mostly ate out. Then I switched to cooking with olive oil. Thankfully my digestion is good now. I appreciate the tips given to overcome constipation and will try them out one by one although my bowel movement is quite regular. We sometimes spend a few days away from home. It is then difficult to get food cooked only in olive oil. It is then that your tips will come handy as long as we pack a small bottle of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil in our suitcase. Thank you for your help.
